All projects at SF Civic Tech are:
10% of students in SFUSD have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that details specific academic and behavioral goals. Data collection is both the backbone and achilles heel of this system. Good data provides guidance and proof of progress but is also onerous to collect. Let’s help our teachers and students by making data collection simpler, more flexible and maybe even a little fun.

Check us out at supportsfschools.org! Our target users are people who live or work in San Francisco and want to support local schools but don’t know how. This is a fun and important project to bring transparency, engagement, and dollars to the school district.
Sep 2024 update: Our MVP is live at supportsfschools.org! We focus on helping people connect with schools near where they live or work, and to find where to donate their money or volunteer their time. The MVP is high school only, so we’ll soon be expanding to elementary and middle schools.

Intentional Walk is a community program based on the baseball strategy of deliberately walking an opposing player to first base. In partnership with the SF Department of Public Health, we released the proof of concept application, welcoming over 500 users into the 2020 pilot and exceeding DPH’s goal for the initial test. Plans for the future include a 2021 release to support a production number of users.

Everyday, paramedics make life and death decisions when choosing where to take patients. And they have to rely on their own experience to make the right choices.
The current $2m/year application used by the city is inadequate, so TeamBATS is piloting an app that helps paramedics know which ERs have available beds, and ERs can learn about patients who are en route.
