Virtual Civic Hack Night is scheduled as a recurring meeting in Zoom every week from 6:30pm to 9pm. The meeting ID and URL are the same each week, accessible from: https://c4sf.me/zoom
Participants can join up to 5 minutes before the scheduled time.
Becoming the Host
Organizing team members and project leads can use the Host Key to claim host privileges for the meeting. The Host Key will be changed when organizing team members or project leads change and redistributed to authorized members. To claim host:
- Open the Participants list from the toolbar

- Click on Claim Host at the bottom of the Participants list

- Enter the Host Key into the dialog

Opening Breakout Rooms
The Host can open Breakout Rooms as follows:
First, enable Screen Sharing for everyone so that each team can do screenshares in their own breakout room. The easiest way to do that is to pop up the little menu on the Share Screen icon and choose Multiple participants can share simultaneously.
Due to recent Zoom-bombing incidents, we are re-thinking how to allow participants to screenshare in breakout rooms. Participants who need to screenshare should request Co-host privileges from the main Host upon entering the meeting and BEFORE joining a breakout room.
- Click on Breakout Rooms in the bottom toolbar. If you don’t see it, open the three dots More menu and choose it from the pop-up menu.

- You will see a list of rooms that you can edit. Hover the cursor over a room to see the Rename/Delete options.

- Before opening the rooms, click on the tiny gear icon in the lower-left corner to open the settings menu, and select Allow participants to choose room
